christmas countdown | wishlist!

Sunday, December 15, 2013

hello! today I'm posting another christmas countdown post and it's my christmas wishlist! I have only 4 products here, because they are all what I really need and want and I couldn't figure out what more I wanted so here you go! let me know what's on yours, btw! :)

maybelline the falsies black drama volum' express mascara {£7.99 | $6.99}

actually I never owned a maybelline mascara in my life. I know they are supposed to be the best but I always find cheaper, good working mascaras and never liked to spend my money on these (they are pretty expensive here). I've heard so many great things about this and saw this on sale in various places so I put this on my wishlist, hoping I could buy this for myself one day :)

juicy couture viva la juicy perfume {£56.70 | $90.00 / 100ml}

my friend bought this and I was tempted ever since I smelt it for the first time. everyone on youtube used to rave about this back in the day. it does smell heavenly and I want it more than anything.

essence sun club matt bronzing powder {£6.99 | $4,99}

karissa pukas (saturdaynightsalrite) raves about this and it's so cheap I can't pass it up without trying it. if people who tried high end bronzers love this, I might love it too!

l'oreal lumi magique light infusion foundation (in the us known as true match lumi) {£10.99 | $12,99}

this foundation screams my name! it's a light infusion foundation which means it's perfect for dry, dull skin. also it has gorgeous packaging and everyone says l'oreal makes best foundations so we shall see!

what's on your makeup/cosmetics wishlist?

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in In Vogue | A Review

Tuesday, December 10, 2013

this was the first lipstick I bought (kind of a shocking color for a first lippie!). I wanted to get into brights and this was on sale so I thought 'why not?' and snagged it!
it is a gorgeous dark fuschia shade in the bullet and it transfers almost exactly like that onto my lips. I often like to mix it with a lighter pink lipstick because I'm still scared of wearing bright lipstick and it makes a wearable everyday shade.
it's marketed as a lasting finish lipstick and because of that it's on a drying side. it's also really pigmented and as I'm pretty clumsy while applying lipstick, it often ends up being all over the place. it definitely has a staining effect and leaves a nice tint to your lips after it's worn off. this also means if you apply it a little on your skin, it looks weird and I have to scrub it off so it wouldn't look as red (: this definitely requires a mirror while applying because you don't want to mess it up!
the wear time is good 3-4 hours in my opinion, as I said, I often mix it so I can't tell you exactly but maybe even longer than that because of it's semi-matte finish.
overall, it's a great lipstick but make sure it's for you, because I think it looks pretty weird on my by itself. swatches are your best friend! the formula is great and doesn't bring out little imperfections in your lips which is always a plus in my book.

have you tried anything from the lasting finish range by rimmel?

Recent Purchases | Make-up Must Haves

Sunday, November 17, 2013

hello lovely lot! deciding what to post today has been a struggle but I decided that I wanted to post a haul of my most recent purchases before I review them for you all! also, I don't know which ones I should review, so if you have requests, please, leave them below the post :)

this past month I spent a lot of my money on make-up, just because I wanted to expand my make-up collection and I needed staples like a gel eyeliner, primer, lipsticks (of which I got a few and I can't be happier about it), black and white eyeshadow and so on. I still have no bronzer and no normal blush and I also really need a new foundation brush, hopefully I will get those soon :) now, let's jump into what I bought!

face

eveline professional art make-up concealer in 2 almond -- bought this on a whim because my essence concealer stick is running out and this was on sale. don't like either one to be honest, they are way to dry and  thug on my eyes but this one is a little more creamy and stays on for longer than the essence one.

catrice prime and fine illuminating base -- now this is a staple in my collection. for someone who suffers from dry skin this illuminating base is amazing. it makes my skin look healthy and glowy but not oily. also it smells amazing!

eyes

catrice made to stay longlasting cream eyeshadow in 040 lord of the blings -- a gorgeous champagne cream eyeshadow. a little too glittery but it makes my blue eyes pop like no other!

golden rose silky touch matte eyeshadow in 214 (hate that they don't name their products!) -- just something I needed for halloween - a matte black eyeshadow. I was left pleasantly surprised after using it and it has so many options for use!

catrice absolute eye color in 660 ice white open -- another thing for halloween - matte white eyeshadow. nothing incredible, also not very pigmented. the packaging looks great but is a real struggle to open - broke my nails while trying! not using it just because of that!

uma raptor collagene mascara -- uma used to have a stand in the drugstore but now they just have a few products in the isle of discounted products and I was in a need of a new mascara so I picked this one up! nothing spectacular, pretty basic, great for everyday :)

catrice eyeliner pen in 050 black blue -- I started wearing eyeliner a few years ago and the essence version of eyeliner pen was my staple! I saw this on a great sale and thought I'd pick it up because it's just so simple to use! as I got used to liquid eyeliner it became harder than I remember but I still choose this when I want a quick and easy makeup look. also, the blue is refreshing!

essence eyebrow designer in 02 brown -- not really loving this. it wipes off my eyebrows and settles weirdly into little dots...

lips

avon colortrend kiss 'n' go lipstick in lucky kiss -- reviewed this lipstick recently HERE! it became one of my favorites.
catrice liquid lip tint in 020 wine-tastic -- love this tint! it is a gorgeous wine red and stays on my lips for forever, also doesn't transfer.
lumene premium beauty lipstick in 12 -- gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous bright pink color! it's matte with really almost invisible micro glitter particles and looks amazing! it's not drying in the slightest which is always a plus.

uma lipstick in 12 coral reef -- gorgeous orange! the texture is really similar to maybelline's color whispers, really thin but can be built up if wanted.

essence lipstick in 02 all you need is red -- picked this up for halloween from a whole new revamped essence lipstick collection! it's a regular red lipstick and I love it.

nails

nail system nail polishes in 16, 441, 411, 408 -- gorgeous colors and this became my favorite nail polish brand! I have a ton of their polishes and they stay on for ages and dries really quickly. doesn't have a lot of colors to choose from though, a lot of similar ones which I already have, nothing exciting or unseen.

have you purchased anything recently? link me up to your haul posts!

Avon Colortrend 'Kiss 'n' Go' Lipstick in Lucky Kiss | A review

Saturday, November 9, 2013

hello! long time no see, again. I know. I promise, from now on I will post more regularly. I got tons of pictures with my boyfriend's phone and now I'm ready for the next few weeks :) how have you all been? I've missed blogging so much!

today I'm reviewing my most loved lipsticks of this fall. it's avon colortrend 'kiss 'n' go' lipstick in lucky kiss. I bought it on a whim when a girl at school offered me a catalogue to go through. I knew I wanted something dark and when I realised it was on sale I bought it. well, I know I'll look at swatches the next time I'm doing something similar because I thought it was terrible when I got it!

the packaging of this lipstick for me personally looks very tacky. it's white, plastic and looks like something a little girl would get off a magazine. it doesn't look sturdy at all but I carry it to school and nothing happened this far. it is pretty thick plastic, though, so maybe I'm underrating it? it definitely doesn't look luxurious in the slightest.

avon colortrend lipstick in lucky kiss is a dark wine red color with a ton of gold glitter all throught-out it. at first I thought it looked like something my grandma would wear but boy was I wrong. I didn't want to waste my money so I immediately thought I will make it work somehow. but after the first application I realised it is gorgeous! my natural lips are pretty red and dark so when I apply this lipstick I get the most perfect dark lip ever. the glitter can only be seen up-close and I have no problem with that. the lipstick's formula is great - it glides on (even on my dry lips) and stays on for a good 2-3 hours. the pigmentation is outstanding. one swipe across the lips and I'm good to go with a very dark wine colored lip. sometimes I blot it with a tissue a little just to get rid of the glitter and to have a more settle color.

the finish of 'lucky kiss' is something between a matte and a regular. it is initially pretty matte but the glitter makes your lips look fuller, bigger, greater and slightly shiny. it doesn't settle in the cracks of my lips and wears really comfortably, no bleeding or anything. it also wears off unnoticeably, doesn't leave any residue what-so-ever which is great. I put a chapstick on before application to make it look even more shiny and so my lips don't dry out as much but I notice that I don't even need it that much.

overall, avon's 'lucky kiss' lipstick is a permanent staple for me this autumn/winter season. it's my first dark lipstick and I can't get enough of it. I think it makes a statement, goes with every outfit and is truly amazing. even my boyfriend complimented it even though his initial thought was similar as mine when he first saw it in the tube :) I think it is seriously worth the purchase, it is very wallet-friendly and for someone like me, with limited funds and an urge to build my makeup collection, it's perfect. one tip to myself - always look at the swatches online before buying something from a catalogue, because the next time it can not work out as well!

*promise to update the post with swatches and myself wearing it, don't have a camera at the moment!
do you have anything from avon? how do you like ordering online/from a catalogue?

The Autumn Tag

Thursday, October 3, 2013

hello! thursday tags are the most chilled posts to make for me and I decided that because it's thursday I should write one up! I have seen a lot posts of the autumn tag floating around in the blogosphere and thought I should take my spin on it :) haven't been tagged by anyone but it's still fun, right? leave me links to your posts if you've done this!

For Autumn, what is your...
  • Favourite thing about it?
the leaves everywhere, crisp air (even though I hate the cold weather, I have a cold allergy where my fingers swell up if they get too cold and my blood doesn't circulate as good to my hands and feet so it's a definite struggle, considering I live in a country with a pretty cold climate). also the fashion - scarves, earmuffs, hats, coats and so on!
  • Favourite drink?
tea or cocoa. I'm always drinking tea to keep me warm and cocoa on those special evenings with a candle on and a good tv show :)
  • Favourite scent/candle?
has to be vanilla and cinammon. I love sweet scents all year around but it just doesn't seem right to burn a tropical candle for example so I choose cozy and warm scents! (also apples!)
  • Best lipstick?
I don't own it yet but I'm lusting over Kate by Rimmel 107. it seems like a lovely fall shade.
  • Go to moisturiser?
at the moment - garnier moisture match!
  • Go to colours for the eyes?
reds, oranges, burgundy and purple shades.
  • Favourite music or band/singer to listen to?
don't have a favorite band, I just like the same music all year, doesn't change on the season, changes depending on my mood :)
  • Favourite outfit to wear (i.e. boots & a scarf combo)?
studded boots or wedges, warm coat, infinity scarf and gloves.
  • Autumn treat? (i.e. a new scarf or bag you have your eye on)?
I will go crazy on makeup this season! I'm already after some matte shadows and the lipstick I mentioned earlier! also, a few candles I have my eye on :)
  • Favourite place to be?
somewhere warm and cozy, curled up in a blanked on the bed (preferably with my boyfriend), drinking hot cocoa or tea and watching a movie.

thank you for reading!
what is your favorite thing about autumn?

monday musings #3

Sunday, September 15, 2013

hello! another week passed by and I'm here to talk to you all about it. I kinda like having a lifestyle post every week, as nosy as I am, I always like to get a glimpse of someone else's life and for those of you who like it too, this should be fun!

this week was nothing extra-ordinary, though. a lot of school work which was left undone. I'm already procrastinating my way through the last school year and it's not good. I should get better - promise! although, if you have posts or tips on procrastinating, send them my way, I'm in a need for some of those :)

our class schedule is still all over the place - one day I have 7 lessons, another day I have 3 with 3 free periods and I hate that! I should have 3 biology A level classes a week and instead I had 2. same with chemistry B - 1 instead of 2. can't wait until everything gets back to normal and I know what to expect the following day. I did get my first grade this week - it was a 10 from english monologue where I had to talk for 5 minutes about the topics from last year's exams. I couldn't be happier because it was way easier than I had expected! I transfered to a new english teacher this year and she is awesome, I think I know english fairly well but I still want to be as prepared as I can for the exam and my last teacher just couldn't do that.

the rest of the week was just spending time with my boyfriend doing homework, watching movies and simply being together. we did go out saturday with my classmate and her boyfriend for a walk through the city and then for pizza - it was awesome, really cought up! they both had a cold though and I think I may have cought it, I was feeling pretty ill the whole weekend, hopefully lots of green tea I've been drinking will help with that.

my dad is still in germany and we still skype everyday but now he's saying he doesn't want to come back. can't blame him though, germany seems way more awesome than lithuania, people are nicer and such, also the sceneries are beautiful from the pictures he sent me! he said maybe me and my mom will go visit him this spring and I can't wait! I've only been out of the country once and it was a looong time ago.

that's pretty much it! how was your week? anything exciting?!

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

whoah, my face up close and personal with you all for the first time on my blog! haha I always wanted to do one of these posts. one day I looked decent enough to gather the courage and take pictures of my make up. nothing too extravagant, just my everyday picks. maybe one day I will actually do something colorful on my eyelids? not sure. keep in mind, there's a lot of Essence. it's cheap, it works great with my skin and I love it!
also, I don't use a lot of products because I don't have a lot of products! but feel free to suggest what I should buy next and what could be the next best thing to my growing collection :)

so let's get on with the products, shall we?

on the face:

Essence's soft&natural makeup foundation
Belaton pink lipstick (nameless) as a blush (blended with a duo-fiber brush)

have you done what's on my face posts before? if so, leave them in the comments because I would love to read it and take inspiration, I'm not sure how these are supposed to work yet!

Garnier Nordic Moisture Match (dry to very dry skin) | Review

Sunday, September 8, 2013

hello! how are you all today? I'm back with another review of the cult favorite - garnier's moisture match. I was looking for a new moisturizer for a while now, dry patches was driving me insane. when garnier launched this moisturizer in my local shops I was working there and decided to try out it from the testers it had. I actually noticed a huge difference! still wasn't sure if it was worth it so I asked for suggestions at the #bbloggers chat on twitter and a ton of you suggested this. this was my turning point - I realised I had to have it.

garnier nordic moisture match is said to moisturize skin 24 hours a day, leaving you with healthy and plumped skin. it has 3 formulas for different skin types - dry to very dry/normal to dry/combination to oily. I chose dry to very dry skin formula without much thought because that's exactly my skin type.
this moisturizer is very thick in consistency but sinks into my skin like no other, leaving just a slight residue to moisturize the skin all throughout the day. I think some people might have a problem with that because you can feel the slight oil on your skin throughout the day but for me that's much better than feeling dry all the time.

the foundation with this cream as a base glides on perfectly and it doesn't make it looking cakey or oily. I have yet to experience the huge colds in the winter but I'm hoping this will moisturize my skin enough so I could wear foundation without my dry patches going crazy in the -25 degree weather.

the scent of moisture match is incredible! for me it smells like fruit and summer and sweetness and I have nothing bad to say about it. I could just sniff it all day long! the pot is comfortable for everyday use, although I would like for it to be a tube. the pot version is more difficult to use if you have long nails but it's more efficient since you can scrape out the bottom to the fullest when you use it up, while with the tube you might have some more difficulty squeezing out the very last bits. it has 50 ml of product (I believe packaging differs from country to country. some of you may have the tube version? here where I live the tubes were the testers and when you buy you have a pot version) and is fairly cheap (also has a sale on quite frequently!).

overall, this moisturizer hasn't failed to impress me. I don't usually like garnier's skincare for my skin type personally but this just made my skin that much better feeling and I no longer suffer. hopefully this will be a lifesaver through the coldness of winter! I would totally recommend it for you all :)

have you tried garnier's moisture match? what are your thoughts?

monday musings #2

with everyone doing their weekly catch-up posts on sundays I decided to step out of the box and do them on mondays!  I know sunday is technically the end day of the week but monday seems a little better to post for me because it's the start of the new week and I seem to have more time/more ideas of what to post on sunday so monday is one of those chill days!
enough of my rambling about this series! hoping you'll like these posts.

this past week was as hectic as ever. if you, by any chance, follow me on twitter you'll know that I had a lot of homework from the very start of the school year. I'm now a senior and this is my last year of school which means exams. I'm trying to do the best I can to study and stay on top of it all instead of slacking and leaving everything for the last minute (which I did last year).

the first day of school was monday for me and it was both exciting and nerve-wrecking. after the awesome sunday #bbloggers chat I became overly exciting about upcoming autumn and so school meant chilly mornings, coffee, cocoa, warm boots, scarves and anything else you could think of. I woke up on monday morning thinking everything is the way I remember it, though waking up early is what I've forgotten - I was waking up at 1pm all summer! let's just say I'm not a morning person. I got ready, put on my burgundy school uniform and stepped outside. the first thing I felt was raindrops! I walk to school and rain meant total disaster but that's fall for you! I met up with my boyfriend and we went to school together - just to be greeted by my classmates and friends for the first time since last school year. then we all went to school, sat in our classrooms, talked to the teachers and went for an 'afterparty' of september 2nd. me, my boyfriend and my bestfriend ended up at my room, watching movies, drinking coke and munching on popcorn while it was pouring outside all day long. I wouldn't trade it for anything, though.

the rest of the week was constant work - the homework for lit class was too much for me to handle (still is) but I'm getting used to everything else. still haven't got a normal schedule because it's hard to make it individual for every class. until it becomes a regular I have time to get used to waking up andm going to sleep early. I already managed to go to bed at 11pm and actually fall asleep not stay up till 2am which I'm pretty proud of!

I also started my shooting practices this week. it's my second year doing it and I love it! we're going to go to the pool every wednesday for a swim just for fun and I can't wait. it's pretty hard to practice when I haven't held a gun in two months but I will get better soon I think.

how's your life lately? when did you started school/uni? x

wishlist #3 | september.

hello, my dears! happy sunday! if you started school/uni again, how is it going? for me it is as hectic as ever with lots of literature to read and homework to do on the first day. I'm currently a senior in high school if any of you are wondering :) the year of exams are quickly approaching and I'm trying to stay on top of it all from the very beginning so I wouldn't have any trouble as the year goes :) blogging was put aside for a few3 days until I get my routine going but now I'm back and I will try to post as frequently as I can, drafting the posts at the weekends when I have free time, hoping you don't mind :)

now let's move onto the wishlist! I gathered some things I've been lusting over this past month, which I'll hopefully get when my payday comes and just wanted to share them all with you :)

1. eBay Korean Style studded bag

it's pure perfection. black, gold detailing, gold big studs on the bottom, half leather half not, short strap and also a really long strap. it's everything I ever looked for in the bag and I can't order it. I have the money in my paypal but I reached some kind of limit and can't buy anything if I don't have a credit card attached to it. and I don't!

2. MUA britain's next top model pallette

in my vivo wishlist post I talked about a pallette that had 2 blushes, bronzer, powder and 9 eyeshadows. this is even better! it has 28 shadows, blush, bronzer, powder and all of this is just 7 pounds! as I'm currently working on expanding my collection this could be a perfect addition with some of the thing I have yet to own on it's own. also, perfect for travelling!

3. MUA blusher

I've heard nothing but great things about these blushes from MUA on other blogs and in my opinion for 1 pound you can't go too wrong. colors from the 2013 range are all beautiful and fun, looking forward to trying them as soon as possible.

4. MUA power pout

another one from MUA I've heard great things about! this particular color picture for me would be perfection for fall, it's dark, sultry but can be easily toned down and would suit my skin I think. can't wait to get my hands on it!

5. dove summer glow tanning lotion

when I was working in my local supermarket there was a huge sale going on this and I kept looking and looking at it but didn't know if it was good or not. recently a ton of reviews popped up on my feedly and I looked through them all just to realise it was an amazing product! can't wait to get my hands on this baby too. I'm going to go for the medium to dark just because I want to see the results faster :)

what's on your wishlist? have you tried any of these products?

beauty review | freeman refining facial cleanser pear

Sunday, September 1, 2013

hello, again! I decided to finally do another beauty review, since they are the most popular posts on my blog and it's a beauty blog so I figured I should finally do one! I promised to do a review on this a long time ago when I bought it back in april (mentioned here) but I always thought I wouldn't have much to say about it. after thinking for a while I realised that I actually did! I raved to my friend about this so I wanted to share to a bigger audience too :)

freeman refining facial cleanser is said to help with acne prone skin because it contains salicylic acid, also it has pear extract.to clear and soften the skin while reducing fine lines and wrinkles. for me, as a 17 year-old girl, the wrinkles was not the factor I chose this for. I was in a terrible need of a cleanser for my dry but acne-prone skin. salicylic acid has always helped me so when I saw it I knew I just had to try it.

the first thing I noticed about this product was the scent that it has - for me it's exactly the same as bath&body works hand sanitizer in fresh picked apples. I'm a sucker for a nice fruity smell that and I just could sit and smell it every single day, and I do! even though this cleanser contains salicylic acid it's very gentle on my dry skin - I don't feel it moisturized or anything but it also doesn't leave me patchy and gross that most products do. after using this my skin feels clean and soft which is exactly what I look for in a cleanser.

the texture of freeman's facial cleanser is a liquid-gel. it's not runny, lathers well when applied but I have problems with rinsing it off, it seems to stay for a little too long that I would want. also, a little of this goes a loooong way, I use a pea size amount each time, sometimes even less and it is always more than enough to clean my face and get rid of any dirt or makeup. this bottle has 150ml and I believe it will last me a while. as I said I've had this since April and I'm still not even half way done!

so if you ever spot this - be sure to pick it up! I love it and would recommend it to anyone, in my opinion it would suit a lot of skin types and needs :)

have you tried this cleanser? what's your favorite?

nails of the day #3 | catrice 'london's weather forecast'

Friday, August 23, 2013

hello lovelies! hope you are having a great week so far, I can't believe how time is flying by, it's only a week left before my last school year! today I wanted to share this quick nail art thing I've done out of pure boredom. I wanted to spice up my nails just a bit and came up with this polka-dotted nail design. also, not a long while ago I purchased three Catrice nail polishes that I believe were discontinued because they were so cheap I even asked the sales assistant if there was something wrong with them! they are all autumn shades and no-one was buying them in the summer except me. I thought it would be perfect for upcoming fall.

Catrice 'london's weather forecast' is a gorgeous grey polish with slight blue tint to it. it is perfect for fall because of the rain and all, also it's a color that is really easy to spice up with brighter colors and make a transition color out of it, that's what I decided to do. since it's still summer here I didn't want to go with full on grey on my nails, so I decided that pink and black would compliment it very well and in my opinion, it did!
grey and pink were always my combo, I think it looks so chic and put together but also great staple coloring. they are not too out-there but not too blank either. I got so many compliments while wearing this, I was amazed!
the only downside to this polish, and I believe that's why it's so cheap, it chipped in a day. it also might be the fact that I only put one coat of this because I was too lazy for it to dry. I haven't tried any polishes from the permanent line but I'm dying to try 'pimp my shrimp' next, it's a gorgeous coral color!
I can't wait to do NOTD posts for other two colors I've picked up, it's a green and dark blue color.

have you tried any catrice nail polishes? what are your fave nail polishes?

wishlist #2 | august -- vivo cosmetics

Monday, August 12, 2013

hello! the past few days I've been scrolling through various UK bargain cosmetic lines and came to conclusion I have to order something from either MUA or VIVO. shipping is pretty cheap and the products are amazing on both. after all the research I decided I would order off VIVO when I get my paycheck at the end of the month (let's cross our fingers that 50% off sale will last until that). I put up a little wishlist on the website and decided to share it here also, just for the sake of it. hopefully some of you have tried these and could give me your opinions?

1. perfect skin primer | on sale - £2.99 here

I'm in a need of a primer for school and I thought I would try this. nothing too special, I'm not quite sure if I will order this or not, because translated into my currency all of these things came to quite a lot of money.

2. color stain lip crayon in best of me | on sale - £1.99 here

gorgeous red lip crayon. in the swatched I've seen on the web this looks moisturizing and buildable color. pretty great for the price, huh?

3. colour block 12 shade eye pallete in unprotected | on sale - £1.99 here

this is compared to naked pallette and is even cheaper than the MUA version! also, from the reviews I've seen this is said to be more pigmented and well, only £1.99!!!

4. on the go artist blush, bronze & eye palette | on sale - £3.99 here

9 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, bronzer and powder - wow, just wow. that's basically all I need right now. definitely my first thing to buy!! can't wait.

5. blush and highlighter duo in sugar candy | on sale - £1.19 here

gorgeous pink blush and champagne highlighter. this would come in handy for sure! don't know if the pigmentation is good or not but I guess we will see? :)

have you tried any of these? is there anything else from vivo I haven't spotted but should?!

Thursday Tag | 40 make-up questions

Thursday, August 8, 2013

hello again! today, as a part of my thursday tag weekly post, is a 40 make-up questions tag, which I've been tagged to do by the lovely Julia from Tres Queentastic. go check out her answers to these awesome make-up and skincare related questions that will hopefully reveal something more about me! let's get it started, shall we?

SKINCARE

  • -How many times do you wash your face daily?
2-3, it depends on the season and what I've been doing that day.
  • -What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
dry to very dry
  • -What is your current facial wash?
I currently use Freeman's refining facial cleanser.
  • -Do you exfoliate?
yes. my skin always gets flaky and gross and I have to exfoliate every 3 days or so to keep it nice and smooth.
  • -What brand do you use?
I used Eveline's facial scrub but I ran out of that and now I have nothing. still not sure if I'll buy the same one (I loved it!!) or if I'll try something new.
  • -What moisturizer do you use?
at the moment I use some crappy moisturizer that my mom gave me because I ran out of mine. I'll buy Garnier's moisture match as soon as I get some money, though :)
  • -Do you have freckles?
a lot, mainly on the bridge of my nose. but in the summer it goes all over the face and those on the nose get really dark.
  • -Do you use eye cream?
nope, I want to, though!
  • -Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
I do.
  • -Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
nope, never did.

MAKE-UP

  • -What foundation do you use?
Essence's soft&natural make-up, which I'm inlove with. great coverage, great feeling, long lasting, non-drying.
  • -How about concealer?
essence's coverstick concealer in 01 matt sand and I hate it. it settles and dries weird and doesn't cover that well either, I just have nothing else to use at the moment
  • -Do you know your undertone color?
I believe it's pink, I'm not quite sure. I have redness on my face and I like to use a little more yellow-based foundations to hide that.
  • -What do you think of fake eyelashes?
love them, never tried them, though. I will in the near future!
  • -Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months?
oh yes, I've learned it the hard way.
  • -What brand of mascara do you use?
essence also. wow, I use a lot of essence.
  • -Sephora or MAC?
never been to either but Sephora, because they have tons and tons of brands I want to try like benefit and urban decay, on the other hand MAC can offer only one.
  • -Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
nope.
  • -What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
beauty blender, eyeshadow brushes, duo-fiber brush, angled brush, eyelash curler.
  • -Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
yes, I have one that I've made myself and it works wonders in keeping my eyeshadow on!
  • -For the face?
I have one that I don't like so suggestions are always welcome!
  • -What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I love champagne colored shadows, I could never have to many of those.
  • -Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
liquid liner all the time.
  • -How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
I rarely use it so no.
  • -What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I think they are messy but the colors always looks amazing!
  • -Do you use mineral makeup?
no.
  • -What is your favorite lipstick?
at the moment it's rimmel's lasting finish 038 'in vogue' because that's the only one I own currently :D
  • -How about lipgloss?
don't really like it, depends on the mood.
  • -What is your favorite blush to use?
I'm inlove with peaches and corals. don't own any now.
  • -Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
no, don't trust it.
  • -Do you like drugstore makeup?
it's super over-priced here but I do like it because I can't really afford anything else
  • -Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
yes, they have the best deals!
  • -Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
yes, I think I will in the future.
  • -Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
nope, I'm pretty used to it, except if I'm in a rush.
  • -Name a makeup crime that you hate?
lately I've been spotting girls with terrible winged eyeliner and I hate that look of thin line up until eyebrow. I think it should be neatly done in order to look good.
  • -Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I love colorful lipsticks and eyeshadows, don't know if I could pull them off, but I'll buy an eyeshadow pallette with colorful shadows soon so I could test it on myself!
  • -Which celebrity always has great make up?
Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad!
  • -If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
definitely mascara.
  • -Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
yes, I have many many times, especially now when it's summer and I'm going to the beach almost everyday. I never wear makeup to the beach.
  • -Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I think I look ill without any mascara because of my pale eyelashes but that's not a problem. I feel like I'm used to seeing myself without any make-up.
  • -In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
oh my, no idea, since I haven't tried a lot!
  • -What do you think of Makeup?
it's my love and passion and I love that it makes people feel better and be more confident and artsy on their own. I, myself, am not an artsy person at all, I never liked drawing and stuff but with make-up I always feel completely in my zone while doing looks on others and on myself. it's my outlet.

hope you enjoyed and feel free to do this TAG yourselves, leave your links of the posts so I could see them, comment on them and read them!

empties #1! | products I used up

Tuesday, August 6, 2013

hello! here we go - my first empties post. I hope this will be somewhat interesting for you to read - I personally love mini-reviews of products people used up :)

  • a mincer phrama moisturizing day & night cream
I had pretty high hopes for this little guy - mainly because of the ingredients it contained, featuring argan oil, pear extract, shea butter, olive oil etc. I wasn't that impressed with it but it was okay for the price. bare in mind that I have very very very dry skin that often flakes so I need a moisturizer that is quite thick and can lock in my moisture. this was nice and made my skin feel soft but in the long run it didn't make a ton of difference. for people with normal to dry skin this would be perfect in my opinion, because if it took care of my flakiness it will take care of yours!

would I repurchase: unfortunately, no.

  • garnier intensive moisture cream for dry skin (face &body)
I was given this by my mom not too long ago - I always saw her use it and I thought it was once again - perfect for me because it's for dry skin. well, it didn't do anything. as soon as it absorbs into my face I'm left with the same dry skin I had before applying. the formula is thick but I just didn't like it. the tube is huge and it last a very long time but you have to apply quite a lot of it and it doesn't do the job very well. not a product I regret using up to say the least.

would I repurchase: no.
  • maybelline dream satin liquid whipped foundation
I saw a lot of reviews on youtube featuring the american version of this foundation and I assumed it was the same. well, I think it wasn't. this was horrible - it barely stayed put on my face for 2 hours them it would settle into dry spots or something and by the end of my school day I would look like I wasn't wearing foundation at all. I don't know why it did that but it happened and if I put foundation on my face I want to look flawless - this would just make me look worse and draw my imperfections even more. again, I have dry skin. maybe people with normal/combo skin would like this more.

would I repurchase: never.
  • AA sensitive skin semi-rich cream for dry and normal skin
I got this as a gift from my friend for my birthday. she knew I suffer from dry skin but she accidentaly mixed dry with sensitive and well, got me this. it is said to have no artificial scent or coloring. first of all let's talk about the horrible scent it has - for some of you it might be not that bad if you're really into the no-artificial-anything. the scent is as natural as it can be - it smells horrible and the smell lingers on your skin and you can smell it. after a while you get used to it, though, but if you're really sensitive with scents I wouldn't recommend this for you. once again, did nothing for my dry skin and for the price it had it should've been a lot better.

would I repurchase: no.
  • got2b straight on protecting straightening spray
my first ever heat protectant right here - this 200ml bottle lasted me 2 years! it kept my hair nice and soft and actually made the difference in the condition of my hair as well as the lasting power of the straigt hair. I have naturally really curly/wavy hair and if it's a tiny bit humid out my straight hair turns into a frizz ball immediately. I noticed the difference only when I didn't use it - I started to notice that my hair seem to curl up way faster than when I put this on in my hair so if you're looking for a good straightening spray - this is it.

would I repurchase: yes.
  • bioderma abcderm irritations around the mouth protective cream
I had these dry flaky dark spots around my mouth and my mom decided to buy this to cure it. I don't know if this exact product got rid of those but it's gone now. I didn't really like the smell and the texture of this - it was thick and left a residue on your face but as it's a healing cream I suppose I shouldn't mind about it. my first experience with a brand bioderma right here.

would I repurchase: if I had the same condition again, yes.

I noticed that this empties post was a little too negative for my liking but oh well, hope you enjoyed it!

have you tried any of these products mentioned? what was the last product you used up?!

Recent Purchases #2 | June

Monday, July 1, 2013

Hello, long time no see! Today I'm back with a new post for you all who stuck with me through this month of not posting - a haul post for the month of June. I thought it would be the only way appropriate to post a haul, since I buy things one by one, not a ton at one time. In a month I'm able to gather products and talk about them a little (so this comes as a first impressions too just not as in depth as reviews). I just realised I left out three more nail polishes but oh well... As you can see, the things I buy the most are nail polishes (it's becoming a slight addiction...) So let's get on with my purchases!

First of all, let's start with makeup products:

A stippling brush - eBay
I was on the lookout for one for a couple years probably and when I found this gem on eBay, I knew I had to have it! It's very big and applies blush perfectly!

Essence My Base Skin Perfection Make-up Base
I spotted this on a sale and thought I would love to try a primer for my foundation. It has a weird orangey color and can be used as a primer or as a tinted moisturizer. It works fairly well for the small price.

Essence Soft&Natural Make-up
I was in a need of a new foundation and bought this because of it's small price tag. All I can say is that it's my new favorite. Looks flawless on the skin, especially applied with beauty-blender. Love it!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in 038 In Vogue
It's a gorgeous dark hot pink color. Looks great mixed with my light pink lipstick to give a more vibrant effect or alone to give the more dark and radiant look. Review coming soon on this one!

Now onto the three nail polishes - the first two ones are pink shades which I fell inlove with (only available in LT, unfortunately). I love the formula of these, they stay on for 4-5 days on my nails which is amazing! The first color being a milky bright pink and the second is a coral orange color.
Another one that I got is Golden Rose Care+Strong Nail Lacquer in 193. It's a beautiful bright royal blue color. I have it on my nails right now and I love it - I've been eyeing it for ages before I decided to finally pick it up!

Syoss Heat Protect Styling Spray

This was the last thing I got. I recently finished my Got2B Heat Protectant and was in a need of a new one immediately. This was on sale and I thought I would give it a go! I will do a review after I use it some more :)

Have you tried any of the products mentioned? Was is your favorite product you bought last month?
